Approval Of Minutes:
Approval of minutes of 8th November 2017 and 13th November 2017: The minutes were agreed as a true record. Proposed HH, seconded AB

Financial Matters:  The precept figure was discussed.  The precept figure has not been increased for a number of years and councillors feel that with the added pressures of further mineral applications, money will have to be spent on representing our interests.  BL advised that precepts have been increased in several parishes in line with inflation.  Councillors agreed that they would have to increase the precept by 3%.  Approved JH, seconded AB

A further £40 from the carol singing night has been given in which takes the total to £409.  JH kindly donated £1 to even up the total.  It was agreed to split the £410 raised between North Muskham Parish Church and Cancer Research UK.  A cheque had been written by a resident directly to Cancer Research UK so it was agreed to raise a cheque for £210 for North Muskham Parish Church and £200 for Cancer Research.  Proposed DH, seconded HH

JH has provided the invoice for the wreath he purchased for the memorial.  It was agreed to raise a cheque for £20 for JH.  Approved AB, seconded HH

Planning:  AS advised that planning has visited the site at Chapel Lane and he was under the impression that the roof was supposed to be covered rather than further tiles being taken off and leaving the property to the elements.  Residents are concerned that the building is of historical significance to the village and that it will cause a hazard if tiles are blown off the roof.  BC discussed with councillors how we, as a council, can be kept informed of issues once the planning notice has gone back to the council as BC feels that the parish is not being sufficiently involved.  It was agreed that the Clerk write to planning.

Minerals Local Plan.  A PAGE meeting was held on 29th November 2017 where it was agreed that the parishes involved should employ the consultant to respond effectively to the Issues and Options document on our behalf.  Replies to the initial phase of the new consultation need to be completed by end January.

General Correspondence:  Planning Training at Castle House, 22nd January.  DH, HH, SG to attend, Pelican Trust – noted. Correspondence forwarded to councillors by email.

AOB:  Parish Council Christmas dinner date set for February 10th.  Clerk to get prices from The Beck and The Crown.

The matter of potholes in the lanes in Bathley was raised.  Councillors are very concerned about the amount of pot holes along all the lanes in the village.  Some are as large as 2ft and 6 inches deep.  There are grave concerns about damage to cars and the safety of cyclists and pedestrians who use the roads.  Councillors felt that any repairs that have been done have been substandard and are not adequate.  It was agreed that the clerk write to Via to voice our views.

The new noticeboard has signs of water ingress which is damaging the notices in it.  JH has spoken to the manufacturer who has agreed to fix it.
