The charming, rural village of Bathley is situated approximately 5 miles north west of Newark on Trent in the district of Nottinghamshire.  Today, Bathley has a population of approximately 250 people and the village itself enjoys a long history, being mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086.  Bathley is also home to the oldest recorded house in Nottinghamshire.

The focal point of the village is The Crown Inn and, in the absence of a village hall, this welcoming public house serves many functions. The Crown Inn hosts a variety of events such as regular quizzes in aid of various charities, summer barbeques, skittles and darts matches, local band nights, Jaguar Club meetings and is also the venue for the parish council meetings which are held every two months on Wednesday nights.  The Crown Inn also serves delicious food and is the hub of the community.

There are many designated footpaths that connect the surrounding villages and, on a clear day even Lincoln Cathedral can be seen from the top of Bathley hill.  Mill Lane Livery Stables is a haven for horse lovers and there are well used bridle paths around the village.

Welcome to the new website for Bathley.   Please browse our pages and contact us if you require any further information.

There is a 10 minute section at the end of the agenda where members of the public can ask questions of or address the Council under AOB (Any Other Business).  During the meeting, members of the public can only take part if specifically invited to do so by the Chairman, unless previously agreed and stipulated on the agenda.
